The Restocks Manager on the Locations page allows you to manage all locations that are flagged for restocking. Once a location has been flagged as a Restock Location, it will appear on the Restock Manager where you can add it to a specified restock route. Then you can set/edit a restock draw for each restock location, set it to Active Restock and finally go to the Generate Press Run page and enter the active restock draws for your selected issue date.
Important Notes about Entering (generating) Restocks:
- Restock locations can be entered (generated) for any date, past, present and future.
- If you have set restock locations and draws, for each publication date, they can be entered immediately after generating the press run for that publication date.
- If your restocking is more fluid and based on “when necessary”, restocks can be entered at a later date, once you have all of the locations and restock draws collected for a publication date.
- Restock locations can be entered (generated) more than once for any date. If a location receives multiple restock deliveries, each of these restock deliveries can be entered individually, with the specified restock draw for each.
Here are the steps to setting up Restocks:
1. Create a Restock Route
Go to the Routes page under Distribution menu. Select Restock from the Select Routes dropdown menu (). Click the “Add new record” button (). Check the Active button, enter a Route Name, assign a Driver, select a Zone and check the Restock Route box. Then click the Save changes button () to save the new restock route.
2. Set Locations as Restocks
Go to the Locations page and select the location you want to set as a restock location. Click the Pencil editor () to open the Edit Location page for the desired location. Open the Restock Information section, select the Restock Route, check the Restock Location check box, check the Active Restock check box, enter a Delivery Sequence (if necessary) and enter a Restock Draw.
Click the Save button () to save the changes. Repeat this process for all locations that are to be set up as Restocks.
3. Batch Edit Restock Locations from the Restock Manager page
Now that you have all of your restock locations setup, click on the Restocks Manager tab () on the Locations page to view them on the Restock Routes.
From this page you can set locations as Active Restocks, assign restock locations to different restock routes (if necessary) and edit the restock draws. Once all restock info is setup correctly you are ready to save the data for a publication date.
Note: Any locations set to Active Restock will be saved historically when you Enter Restock Draws on the Press Run Generator page. If there are locations that were not restocked for a press run, uncheck the Active Restock check box for the location and click the Save changes button () before generating the Restocks.
4. Enter Restock Draws
Go to the Generate Press Run page. Select the Issue (publication) date for the restock draws to be entered.
Notes: Make sure the date of the Issue (publication) is selected, not the date the restock deliveries themselves were completed. Restock locations can be entered (generated) for any publication date, past, present and future, multiple times.
Click the Enter Restock Draws button () to generate the restocks.
5. Restock Route Sheets
After Entering Restocks for a publication date, the Restock Route(s) will appear on the Route Sheets themselves under the Dispatch menu. Click on the Routes dropdown menu to see that the restock route has been added to the list of route sheets available.
Historical Restock Stats
Once Restocks are generated for a publication date, you can view the initial/restock deliveries breakdown on the Historical Restock Stats page. This is the second sub tab on the Restocks Manager page. This sub tab will show you the breakdown of Initial Drops/Draws, Restock Drops/Draws and Total Drops/Draws for each publication date.
Location Stats with Restocking Info
Restock deliveries will appear on a Location’s Stats page as well. Click the Stats icon () for any location and select the Table tab. The ND column is the “number of deliveries” completed for each draw date (publication date). Click on the small arrow () to the right of the Draw Date column to open the delivery breakdown for a publication date. A sub table will open showing each delivery completed for that date and whether it was an initial delivery or a restock.
